The Ministry of Education has revealed the official exam dates for the third and fourth phases of the JEE Main 2021. The first and second phases have been successfully conducted by the National Testing Agency in February and March 2021 respectively. However, Phase 3 and Phase 4 were postponed amid the rise in the cases of Covid cases. Nevertheless, the concerned authorities have released the revised dates for the upcoming examinations. However, the candidates are not happy with the exam dates and are now demanding the postponement of the fourth phase of the JEE Main 2021.
A majority of the students are demanding postponement of the examinations. In addition to this, the candidates have also written an open letter to the Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan citing this injustice and highlighting that this is unethical on the part of the authorities. The only reason for this increased agitation amongst the students is the fewer gaps between the third and the fourth phase. According to the student’s body, previously the candidates got at least a 1-month gap between any two phases.
This gap served as the assessment period between the two-phase as the candidates get ample time to assess their mistakes and work on the same. The student’s body has also claimed that the exam has been delayed and this gap of fewer days is just going against the motto of conducting the examination in multiple phases. They have further demanded that at least 15 days should be given between two phases for the betterment of the students.
The students who are appearing for other Engineering entrance tests have also cited that the JEE Main 2021 is clashing with other examinations. The candidates have stressed on the fact that this clash will only disturb the peace of mind of the candidates and will hamper their performance in the examination. However, amidst this, there is a separate section that is justifying this act of the agency stating the fear of the 3rd Covid wave. They have also said that JEE Advanced is also left to be conducted and any more rectification of the JEE Main dates will further push the dates of the next examination.
The JEE Mains examination is an Engineering entrance test that is conducted annually in multiple phases for the eligible candidates. The candidates who successfully clear the exam with high ranks get the opportunity to get admission in the NIT and IIIT colleges of India in any Engineering discipline.
