JEE Main 2021 Phase 3 Today

The day has finally arrived for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 April or third session. The first day of the third phase exam is today, July 20, 2021. The national-level entrance exam will be conducted in two sessions on each day. Candidates will be appear for the exam as per the slot date and time mentioned in their respective admit cards.

With more than 7 lakh people appearing for the entrance exam, there is tremendous competition among students. To avoid any last-minute mistakes, here are the exam timings, dress code and other details to be followed by candidates –

JEE Main 2021 slot timings

Just like previous sessions, NTA shall be conducting the JEE Main 2021 third session in two shifts – first shift from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the second shift from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The exact date and slot timing for all candidates have been specified in their respective admit cards. Therefore, they must appear for the entrance test in accordance with the timings mentioned in the admit card. Moreover, aspirants are also instructed to reach the test centre 2 hours prior to the commencement of exam. This is to ensure that all social distancing norms are in place and the document verification well-intime.

Documents and things to carry for the JEE Main 2021 examination

Candidates have been instructed to carry a list of documents to the exam centre. These include – 1. JEE Main 2021 Admit Card with Self Declaration Form, 2. Passport size photograph (same as uploaded during application process), 3. One photo ID such as PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, etc and 4. PwD certificate issued by the concerned authority (if applicable).

Along with the required documents, candidates must also bring a transparent ballpoint pen, a transparent 50ml hand sanitiser and a transparent water bottle to the exam centre. Other than the enlisted items, no other objects are permitted at the exam centre. Students must carefully check whether all the required items are with them before heading towards their JEE Main 2021 exam centre. Best wishes to all the candidates!

Dress code for JEE Main 2021

NTA has not specifically laid down any guidelines in terms of the dress code that candidates must follow while coming to the exam centre. However, by reading the general guidelines, candidates can get a clear idea of what dress code is permitted for the exam. Accordingly, students are advised to wear light and comfortable clothes which would not cause any discomfort while appearing for the exam. Moreover, the clothing must also not raise any unnecessary suspicion leading to extensive frisking.

Candidates are also not permitted to wear any metallic accessories, ornament or jewellery, ring, goggles, bracelets, stoles, garments with large bottoms, etc. All these items are strictly prohibited and may lead to direct confiscation. Moreover, shoes with thick soles are also not permitted at the centre. The rule of thumb here is to keep the outfit simple and comfortable.
