JEE Main 2019 Exam Date And Shift Announced; Paper 2 Will Be Held On One Day Only In 2 Shifts

The exact examination dates and shifts for JEE Main 2019 have been announced. Till now, it was specified that JEE Main will be conducted from January 06 to January 20, 2019. However, as of today the exact dates and shifts for both Paper 1 and 2 have been announced. To check the allotted exam day and shift, the candidates have to visit nta.ac.in and login using their application number and on doing so candidates will be able to see their exam date, shift and timings.

It was said that paper 2 of JEE Main 2019 will be held in one shift only. However, now it has been declared that the Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) will be held in 2 shifts and only on one day i.e. January 08, 2019.

To be precise, JEE Main Paper 1 will be conducted in two shifts which are 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM. Paper 1 will be comprising of three sections namely Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, likewise, Paper 2 will also be having 3 parts in total. Paper 1 will be conducted wholly in the online mode. However, Part 1 i.e., Mathematics and Part 2 i.e., Aptitude Test of the Paper 2 will be Computer – Based Test . However, it is to be kept in mind that Part 3 i.e., Drawing Test will be pen and paper based and will be conducted offline on drawing sheets.

Candidates must keep in mind that Paper 1 will be having questions from Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, each section comprising of 30 questions which will be of 120 marks each in total. Paper 2 will also be having different set of questions with different marking scheme such as Mathematics part will be having 30 questions which will be 120 marks in total. The Aptitude Test Part will be comprising of 50 questions and will be of 200 marks in total. Part 3 which is the Drawing Test namely, will be consisting 02 questions which will be of 70 marks in total. The result for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be declared on 31st January, 2019.

The governing authorities have specified that Application Form Correction for JEE Main 2019 window will be open for some days. The application form window will be open from October 08, 2018 to October 14, 2018. The changes in the Application Form can only be made online only. As of now, NTA has not specified that what changes can be made, it will do so once the correction window will get open.

There is no attempt limit for JEE Main 2019 as such. In other words, this is a golden opportunity for the students who have given 10+2 examination either in 2017 or 2018 or will give the examination in 2019, they are all eligible for JEE Main 2019.

Candidates must have selected 4 cities as per their preferences for JEE Main 2019, however the exact city of examination both for Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be announced on October 21, 2018 on NTA’s website. The admit card for JEE Main 2019 can be downloaded from the official website of the governing body on December 17, 2018. Also, the candidates who have an aim to take admission in NITs and CFTIs to pursue the courses B.Arch and B.Planning, they will will have to clear JEE Main Paper 2.

JEE Main 2019 Date and Shift

The Eligibility Criteria for Paper 2 i.e, B.Arch/ B.Plan has been changed. NTA has laid certain regulations regarding the eligibility criteria which is that candidates should have studied and passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 level for admission to 1st year of B.Arch course. In other words, no candidate will be admitted to Architecture courses unless he / she has passed an examination at the end of 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Physics and also 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 examination.
