The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee efficiently concluded the Joint Admission Test for Masters, JAM 2022 today, February 13, 2022. The exams were held in two shifts at various affiliated centers across the country. Physics, Mathematical Statistics, and Biotechnology exams were conducted in the forenoon session from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm whereas Chemistry, Economics, Geology, and Mathematics exams were held in the afternoon session from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm respectively.
According to reports, more than 60K candidates appeared for IIT JAM, 2022 exam today. The difficulty level of the exam was moderate and the paper pattern was objective in nature with different types of questions based on Multiple Choice Questions, Multiple Select Questions, and Numerical Answer Type questions.
JAM 2022 Official Answer Key by IIT
Due to the objective nature of the JAM, the 2022 exam IIT Roorkee will be soon delivering the provisional answer keys for all the subjects and their sets on its official website at jam.iitr.ac.in. Along with the release of answer keys, candidates’ response sheets will also be uploaded on the official website mentioned above.
IIT Roorkee is expected to release the JAM 2022 answer key in the first week of March. Last year, IIT had released the official answer key exactly 15 days after exam. If the same trend is followed, then candidates can expected the answer key around February 28 to March 2, 2022.
The exam was divided into 3 main sections namely, A, B, and C where questions were divided unevenly. A total of 60 questions were framed for 100 marks and candidates were given 3 hours to attempt all.
Soon after the release of the provisional answer keys, IIT Roorkee will start inviting applications for challenging the provisional answer key with valid proofs and justification. Any candidate wishing to participate in raising the objections against the provisional answer key can do so by applying for it on the official website of IIT Roorkee. Candidates will be charged Rs 500 for every objection they raise.
Once the officials conclude the challenges raised by the candidates, final answer keys will be released. Any changes made in the provisional answer key will get reflected in the final answer key. Candidates can calculate their respective scores with the help of their response sheet and the final answer key, following the marking scheme set up by the IIT Roorkee. The JAM 2022 results will be evaluated using the final answer keys via a computerized system.
IIT Roorkee has already announced the date of release of the JAM 2022 results. The IIT JAM 2022 results will be released on March 22, 2022, on the official website of IIT Roorkee. Candidates can view their scorecard through a simple login process using their registration Id and password.
JAM Cutoff 2022
Cut offs for the JAM 2022 exam will be declared along with the announcement of results. Candidates can roughly estimate the JAM 2022 cut-offs by referring to the JAM 2021 cut-offs as mentioned below :
General Category Cutoffs:
Biotechnology – 34.13, Mathematics – 24.69, Mathematical Statistics – 22.08, Physics – 19.91, Chemistry – 19.52.
OBC/ NCL Cutoffs:
Biotechnology – 30.72, Mathematics – 23.22, Mathematical Statistics – 19.87, Physics – 17.92, Chemistry – 17.57.
SC/ST/PwD Cutoffs :
Biotechnology – 17.07, Mathematics – 12.35, Mathematical Statistics – 11.04, Physics – 9.96, Chemistry – 9.76.
Based on the difficulty level of the exam and by comparing the number of candidates appearing for the JAM 2021 and 2022 exams, candidates can easily estimate what will be the JAM 2022 category-wise cut-offs for all the subjects.
