IIT Kharagpur conducted the Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) 2019 on February 10, 2019, in two shifts. The exam conducting was supposed to release the candidate responses yesterday i.e. on February 19, 2019. However yesterday, they removed the date from the website and candidate responses section says to be announced later and now it has been released. The candidate response sheet for JAM 2019 has been released online at JOAPS,

To download the candidate response sheet, the candidates need to visit the official website at joaps.iitkgp.ac.in. Then, the candidates need to log in by entering their Enrolment ID / Email ID and Password. Click on the submit button and then in the next screen, your dashboard will appear. .Click on the relevant link for downloading the response sheet.

The JAM 2019 Response Sheet will consist of Question ID, Option ID, Option market by the candidate, Status of the question, etc. The response sheet for IIT JAM 2019 is helpful at the time of cross-checking the answers.

IIT Kharagpur has not yet announced the date for releasing the Answer Key. Earlier, JAM 2019 Official answer key and question paper were supposed to be released online on February 25, 2019. However, now on the official website, it says that the date will be announced later.

The candidates can then use the Question Paper, Answer Key and Response Sheet to cross-check their answers. At the time of cross-checking the answers, the candidates need to add or deduct marks as per the marking scheme given by the exam conducting body.

The Question Paper for JAM 2019 was divided into three sections- Section A, Section B and Section C. First section, which was Section–A contained a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) involving 10 questions of one mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Next, section B had a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) carrying two marks each. Finally, Section C had a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions involving 10 questions of one mark each and 10 questions of two marks each.

Now, as far as the marking scheme is concerned, in Section-A (MCQ), for a wrong answer, the candidates have to deduct 1/3 marks for 01 mark questions, and similarly, for each wrong answer of 2 marks questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted. Whereas, in Section-B (MSQ), there are no negative and no partial marking provisions. Also, there is no negative marking in Section-C (NAT) as well.

The result for JAM 2019 is going to be announced online on March 20, 2019. The score for JAM 2019 is utilized to shortlist candidates for admission in MSc (Two Year), Joint MSc- Ph.D., MSc-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor’s degree programmes at IITs and IISc. After JAM 2019 Result is declared, IIT Kharagpur also releases the Rank lIst and Merit list on the official website, jam.iitkgp.ac.in on April 05, 2019.

  1. Response sheet is now gone and there were several mistakes ( that I assume ) in marking. what happened does anyone know?
