Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducted the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) today, on December 5, 2019. Today was the first of two exam dates of the SOF IMO 2019-2020; the next exam date is December 17, 2019.
Classes 1 to 12 students have appeared in the exam from all corners of India. And all are now looking forward to answer keys, as well as results.
SOF will officially publish IMO answer keys at sofworld.org. They will be published around the end of this month. While the foundation has not made any date for answer key release public, for the last two exams namely NSO and IGKO, it has been observed that SOF released answer keys 21 days after the exam.
Going by this data, it is anticipated that IMO answer key 2019 will be released around December 26, 2019 for the December 5, 2019, and around January 7, 2020 for the December 17, 2019. And following the timeline of IGKO results, IMO result 2019 is expected to be out by the end of January 2020.
However students need not exactly have to wait that long, till December 26, 2019, for knowing the answer keys of IMO exam.
Several coaching centres release IMO answer keys on the same day as the exam, after the exam. Few such institutions are Career Point, Motion IIT JEE, Vibrant Academy, Rao IIT, Bansal classes. As can be seen they are mainly coaching centers of JEE exam. However, since a number of students of various classes that study there have been seen to appear in IMO exam, hence the centres release unofficial answer keys of these exams to help them out.
To check answer keys of the International Mathematics Olympiad by Career Point, Motion IIT JEE, Vibrant Academy, Rao IIT, Bansal classes, candidates need to visit careerpoint.ac.in, motioniitjee.com, vibrantacademy.com, raoiit.com, bansal.ac.in respectively. The institutes may also choose to publish their versions of the paper solutions on their social media handles of facebook, twitter, or as video solutions on youtube.
Other than that, state specific coaching centres, teachers may also chose to upload unofficial answer keys for immediate reference of students. Those not published by SOF shall however not have any bearing upon calculation of marks for actual results.
On the first day, candidates get Set A question paper and will thus need IMO set A answer key 2019. Those who appear on the second day get Set B question paper and will therefore need to refer to the IMO set B answer key 2019.
Even though exams are held on two different dates, answer keys are also released separately, result for a SOF exam is announced on the same date for all its exam dates.
On the basis of IMO results, classes 1 and 2 students will get awards. For classes 3 to 12, students will be selected for level 2, and winners of level 2 will get awards. The Science Olympiad Foundation has decided to spend Rs 18 crores on awards, scholarships, felicitations for 2019-2020 exams.
