National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the admit card of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2020 tomorrow, on December 6, 2019. The exact time from which download link will be activated has not been disclosed by the exam conducting body yet. Looking at past year trends, and other NTA exams, there does not seem to be any fixed time slot that NTA usually follows to be the launch time of admit cards.
Hence, students will have to check the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in at regular time intervals to know when admit card is available. However candidates need not rush, as the admit card will remain available for download at least until the first exam date.
The exam dates of JEE Main January exams are January 6 to 11, 2020. Hence it is anticipated that the admit card download link will remain available at least until January 6, 2020, and at max until January 11, 2020.
As far as the date of exam which a student is assigned is concerned, students will not get any preferences to choose between exam dates (there is no slot booking in JEE Mains). The assigned date, as well as exam center will be conveyed to each candidate through his or her admit card.
On the exam date, those who get the first shift will have to take entry in the exam center, undergo physical frisking, document verification, attendance, biometric registration, and checking of admit card from 7:30 am to 9 am. Second shift candidates will go through this process from 1 pm to 2 pm.
For first shift, invigilators will announce exam related instructions from 9 am to 9:20 am. Then candidates will be allowed to log in to their systems to read instructions at 9:20 am. The test will commence at 9:30 am and end at 12:30 pm.
These three processes will be carried out from 2 pm to 2:30 pm (imparting instructions), 2:20 pm (login), and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm (exam).
NTA will publish official answer key with question paper and response sheets after the exam. Though the answer key release date is not available in the brochure, it is expected on the day after the exam, again at the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
This is the first time that JEE Main will have numerical value type questions as per the new exam pattern. To familiarize students with the new pattern, sample questions have been published on the website. Also, the new paper of B.Plan has been introduced. For that too a sample question set has been published by NTA.
Tomorrow, students can check jeemain.nta.nic.in to download their admit cards. Application number, password login details will be needed to download it. Candidates should not expect to receive hall tickets by post or any other means, they will be themselves responsible for downloading the document from the official website on time.
