India Institute Of Technology (IIT), Ropar has rolled out 5 news courses from the academic session 2019-20. These 5 news courses are M.Tech in electrical engineering with specialization in microelectronics and very large-scale integration (VLSI) with design, M.Tech in chemical engineering, M.Tech in civil engineering specialization in water resources, M.Tech in environmental engineering and in computer science and B.Tech In Mathematics And Computing.
The courses have been introduced at IIT, Ropar keeping in mind the increasing demands of the industry for trained manpower in the fields of financial technology, artificial intelligence, and information security. Also, there is a huge demand in the field like mathematics and computing.
Also, it is said that these courses will be covering vast aspects. Like the new M.Tech course (program in water resources and environmental engineering) overs all aspects of water resources engineering, including among others, assessment of surface and subsurface resources, water resources development and management, surface and subsurface drainage, as revealed by Professor Head of Civil Engineering Department to a reputed daily.
Admission in IITs is based on the candidate’s performance in JEE Advanced. The candidates who qualify JEE Main are eligible for JEE Advanced. After they qualify the advanced exam they are offered seats in the IITs of the nation.
JEE Advanced 2019 exam is to be held on May 27, 2019. The exam will be held in the online mode. The exam will have 2 papers in the exam – Paper 1 and 2. Candidates have to attempt and qualify in both the papers. Both the papers will have 3 sections each. These sections are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Paper 1 is for 3 hours and Paper 2 is also for 3 hours. The total duration thus is 6 hours.
The candidates have to score an aggregate percentage of 10.0 in each subject to qualify the exam and the overall aggregate score must be 35.0 for the general category candidates. This year the top 2,45,000 of JEE Main 2019 are to appear for the JEE Advanced 2019 for admission in the IITs of the nation.
