As per the GATE 2019 information brochure, IIT Madras will release GATE 2019 Result on March 16, 2019. However, if the past 05 year trends are to be checked, then it is expected that the result of GATE 2019 will be announced one day before the due date, i.e. on March 15, 2019. Last year also, the result was to be announced on March 17 but was released on March 16, at around 02:45 PM. There is a high possibility that on March 15, 2019, the result will be announced by 2 or 3 p.m.

It is no coincidence that GATE result is announced a day before. Even in 2017, the result date as per the brochure was 27 March, however, the result was announced a day early, i.e. on 26 March. Likewise, for the year 2016, the result of GATE exam was supposed to be out on 19 March as per the GATE information brochure, however, as per the trends, it was announced a day early i.e. on 18 March.

GATE result 2019 is going to be announced online on the GOAPS website, appsgate.iitm.ac.in. To check the result, the candidates need to visit the GOAPS official website. Then, log in by entering their Enrollment ID / Email Address / Registration ID and Password. Click on the “Submit” button and then in the next screen, candidate’s dashboard will appear on the screen. On the student dashboard, click on the relevant link for checking the result. In the next screen, the result of the candidate will appear on the screen.

The Result will consist of details such as the name of the candidate, registration number, gender, marks obtained, qualifying marks required to pass the test. After the declaration of result, the candidates will be then issued GATE 2019 Scorecard. It will consist of details such as GATE score, marks obtained by the candidate out of 100, the validity of GATE Result, All India Rank secured by the candidate, etc.

The result for GATE 2019 is prepared as per the marking scheme given by the exam conducting body. For a 01 marks question, the candidates get 01 marks for correct answer and 1/3 negative marking for an incorrect response. Whereas, for a 02 marks question, the candidate gets 02 marks for a correct answer and 2/3 negative marking for an incorrect answer.

For a Single-session paper, the marks are calculated on the basis of the marking scheme, whereas, for the subject papers which were conducted in the multi-session, the result is prepared on the basis of the method of Normalization.

IIT Madras recently published the Final Answer Key for all subject papers of GATE 2019. The final answer was released on March 13, 2019, at the official website of GATE. The candidates were allowed to submit the objection in the GATE Answer Key till February 22, 2019. On the basis of the objection submitted by the candidate, the exam conducting body then released the final answer key by making the necessary corrections, if any.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level entrance exam. GATE qualified candidates are eligible to take admission in prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs for admission in M.Tech and research courses. The score for GATE is used by many PSUs as they recruit graduate engineers with lucrative pay which makes GATE as one of the most sought after engineering exam.
