The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) MBA (IB) entrance exam 2022 was conducted yesterday, on December 5, 2021 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). With the conclusion of the exam, the wait for answer keys, and result has begun.
Although NTA has not fixed any particular date for declaring the results, it seems likely that the same will be available soon. However, before declaring the results, the agency will first release the preliminary answer keys and then open the window for submitting objections. NTA has not specified the exact dates for any post exam activity. Thus candidates should check the official website iift.nta.nic.in regularly. However, there is some well-measured approximation for the dates of these events, which can be arrived at by past year trends.
It is expected that NTA will declare the IIFT result 2022 on any date between December 17, 2021, and December 28, 2021. We can arrive at a closer approximation once the answer key is released. The result will be announced 1-2 weeks after the last date of answer key challenge. These expected dates are as per past years’ IIFT exam schedules.
Here are the dates of last two years as per which the IIFT 2022 result date are being calculated.
Exam | IIFT 2021 | IIFT 2020 |
Exam Date | 24 Jan 2021 | 01 Dec 2019 |
Answer Key Release Date | 28 Jan 2021 – 30 Jan 2021 | 03 Dec 2019 – 05 Dec 2019 |
Result Date | 16 Feb 2021 | 13 Dec 2019 |
Gap b/w exam and ak | 4 days | 2 days |
Gap b/w exam and result | 23 days | 12 days |
The actual result date will be entirely as per NTA.
This year another factor will play an important role in the final result date – the new exam date for IIFT 2022 exam in those cities where exam was postponed.
The IIFT MBA (IB) 2021 examination was cancelled in a few parts of the country due to the apprehensions over cyclone Jawad. The places where the test has been cancelled are Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. Specifically, the centres in which the exam has been cancelled in these states are Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneshwar, Sambalpur, Cuttack, Kolkata and Durgapur. NTA is yet to release the fresh dates on which the exam for these states will be conducted.
Now, it is speculated that until the exams are conducted for the remaining states, NTA will not declare the results. This might delay the result declaration process and the candidates may have to wait a little longer to get their results. Nonetheless, one should not jump to any speculations and wait for an official statement from the agency.
How will NTA declare the results?
After receiving objections against the provisional answer key, NTA will review them and formulate the final answer key. The results will then be declared based on the final answer key. An NTA score (percentile) will then be formulated after converting the raw scores of the candidates. This score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate.
However, once the results are out, they will be hosted on the official website – iift.nta.nic.in. The scorecards of the examinees will also be made available via the same website. Please note that the list of the shortlisted candidates for the second round of admission will be displayed on iift.edu.
