As per reports, over 4.7 lakh students have applied for Kerala Plus One Admission 2019. Majority of applicants, around 413262, had studied from Kerala SSLC. Rest are from CBSE and ICSE, respectively 45560 and 4278.
As a result of high number of applicants, there has arisen a difference in number of Plus One seats and SSLC seats in few districts. For example, 78335 students passed SSLC in Malappuram, and there are 52775 Plus One seats in it. Similarly 44074 students passed SSLC in Kozhikode whereas there are only 34522 Plus One seats in it.
HSCAP is the single window system for higher secondary admissions. Online applications were invited through it from May 10, 2019. This single window makes it easier for all involved to understand and partake in the admission process.
This year DHSE is leaving no stones unturned to make plus one admissions a better process. To start with, classes will start earlier than before, on June 3, 2019. A quicker allotment process will enable plus one students to benefit from the 203 working days that are stipulated in the 2019-2020 academic calendar. In essence, classes shall commence after phase 1 admissions complete. Supplementary allotments will go on until July 5.
Overall number of seats available in state government, aided, unaided categories are 361763. In Kerala, 434729 students had appeared for SSLC (class 10) exams. 426513 students had qualified for class 11, with 37334 securing A+. Authorities have assured in various press meets that there are enough seats, and increase in seats will only happen after admission process commences.
When plus one seats are increased dramatically, and sans strategy, it leads to a crisis in schools specially in vocational higher studies sector. They find it difficult to fill seats. In such cases then, entire batches are transferred to such places where students are more.
With trial allotment result announced by HSCAP, students can gear up for upcoming events of Kerala Plus One Allotment 2019 also. All updates regarding it are being published at hscap.kerala.gov.in.
