HP SET 2019 on 14 July; Admit Card, Roll Number Out at hppsc.hp.gov.in

HP SET 2019

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) is conducting Himachal Pradesh State Eligibility Test on July 14, 2019. Paper-I will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Paper -II will take place from 2 PM to 4 PM. It will be a pen and paper based test, with break of 2.5 hours between first and second papers. All candidates have to appear in both papers in order to be considered for eligibility for Assistant Professors.

The exam will be held for 22 subjects in 11 cities. Admit card containing roll numbers of test takers have been issued at hppsc.hp.gov.in login. One is required to login with user name and password. Hall ticket contains various details of exam, including exam centre assigned. HP SET 2019 is being organized at centres in Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Dharamshala, Kangra, Nahan, Una, Kullu, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Chamba.

HP SET 2019 is being organized at centers in Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Dharamshala, Kangra, Nahan, Una, Kullu, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Chamba.

Regarding issuance of admit card, candidates have also been informed via SMS to their registered number, and email at registered email IDs that candidates filled in online recruitment application form. Candidates can login anytime prior to exam to get their admit cards. However it is recommended to do so sooner rather than later so as to be aware of exam centre and make necessary arrangements.

The commission is reachable from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days via telephone numbers 0177-2624313, 2629738. There is also a toll free number 18001808004 which candidates can use to contact HPPSC.

Exam date for HP SET 2019 has been revealed via admit card and notice that followed its issuance. At the time of form filling, exam date was not finalized. However it was stated that exam was to happen in third week of July.

22 subjects for which the exam is taking place are Chemical Sciences, English, Life Sciences, Commerce, Economics, Geography, Hindi, History, Mathematical Sciences, Music, Physical Sciences, Physical Education, Sociology, Sanskrit, Political Science, Public Administration, Computer Science and Applications, Tourism Administration and Management, Mass Communication and Journalism, Philosophy, Psychology, Education. For each, there will be paper I as well as paper II.

Paper I is a general paper comprising of 50 questions, 100 marks. Then Paper II is subject specific test with 100 questions, 200 marks. After exam, answer key of HP SET 2019 shall be released.

UGC NET and CSIR NET are held at a national level. At state level, most states hold separate SET exams. HP SET is one such state level exam. Candidates who appear in top 6% of its merit list are declared as qualified for eligibility of Assistant Professor. They can thereby apply for such positions in universities / institutes in state.
