The Metallurgical Engineering (MT) paper of the GATE 2022 examination has been concluded by IIT Kharagpur today. It was a computer-based test held in the morning session from 9 am to 12 pm. The next session of the GATE 2022 exam is scheduled from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The question paper pattern had 65 questions that were a mix of MCQ, MSQ, and NAT questions.
Now, as the examination is over, coaching classes have started compiling the memory-based papers from candidates to prepare the GATE MT answer key with solutions. These answer keys are of great help when it comes to getting a clear idea of the level of the paper asked and the counter-performance of the candidates in the examination. As per leading reports, the authorities shall release the official GATE 2022 answer key by February 16 or 17, 2022. The final result that is going to be declared on March 17, 2022, shall be based on the performance of candidates.
Candidates expressed that the Mettalurgy question paper was fairly moderate. More weightage was given to the section on Manufacturing and the questions were mostly concept-based. However, well-prepared candidates could solve the paper easily.
As of now, only some coaching classes have released the answer key of the GATE 2022 MT paper. However, the answer keys of the remaining clauses shall be released in the upcoming days. Candidates can check out the answer keys released by popular classes, Byju’s Prep, GATE Academy, Unacademy, Testbook. The examination had two sections, A and B accounting for 65 questions for a total of 100 marks. Section A was based on the General Aptitude section having 15 questions from three sub-sections i.e. Verbal Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude, and Analytical Aptitude. While the remaining 50 questions were from Engineering Mathematics and Metallurgical Engineering portions. The candidates got 3 hours to complete the examination. Those who successfully clear the exam with high marks shall be called to appear in the counseling round.
