Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University is inviting applications in both offline and online mode for teaching and non-teaching posts. For BAOU recruitment 2019, candidates can apply against a total of 14 vacancies till December 19, 2019, and hard copy of the form has to be submitted until December 24, 2019.
Out of the total, 8 vacancies have arisen for a teaching posts. There are 6 vacancies of associate professor, 1 each for subjects viz sanskrit, education, sociology, hindi, english, public administration. Then there are 2 vacancies of assistant professor, 1 each for library science and computer science.
Rest 6 vacancies are meant for the administrative post, 1 for a librarian, 1 for PA cum Steno to VC and 4 for junior clerk.
The university has taken into consideration the reservation of post for, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Socially and Economically Backward Class (SEBC). Vacancies wise 7 seats are for unreserved category, 4 for SEBC, 2 for ST and the same for SC is 1.
For being eligible for the post of associate professor in Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, one must have a PhD degree and a master’s degree with at least 55% marks. Along with the essential qualification a candidate must also possess 8 years of experience in teaching or research position.
Babasaheb Ambedkar University requires that to be eligible to apply for assistant professor, having a master’s degree with 55% marks is mandatory. Besides this, one must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET). Moreover, holding of a PhD degree in accordance with the recruitment rules is essential.
As per the eligibility guidelines prescribed by the university for post of associate professor and assistant professor working knowledge of Gujarati language, experience fo working in the open distance learning system and basic computer knowledge is also desirable.
The essential minimum qualification requirement for the administrative post varies for each post. Some require a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree with some year of experience pertaining to the field.

As per the information laid down under the recruitment notice candidates who have already applied for the post of the associate professor education, PA cum steno to VC and junior clerk, in response to the earlier recruitment advertisement released on January 21, 2018, may not apply again but, such applicants have to pay the fee again.
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility specification can fill the application form online available at baou.edu.in. One can find the form under “Recruitment for Teaching & Non-Teaching Posts-2019” link. Candidates have to fill the form both in online and offline mode.
The offline form after downloading and fully filled have to be addressed to “The Registrar, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, ‘Jyotirmay’ Parisar, Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, Chharodi, Ahmedabad – 382481” latest by December 24, 2019.
University has only opened the provision of paying the fee in an offline mode through DD. DD has to be drawn in favor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University payable at Ahmedabad. The application fee for SC, ST, EWS, and Ph are Rs. 250 and for another candidate it is Rs. 500. Mentioning of the candidate’s name and post applied is must at the backside of a DD.
For selecting the candidates, the university will conduct a written test and on the basis of the merit list prepared the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
