Cochin Shipyard is looking for eligible candidates for the post of Graduate Apprentice and Technician (Diploma) Apprentice. The conducting body has published a total 139 vacancies out of which 67 are for Graduate Apprentice and 72 are for Technician (Diploma) Apprentice. Online application procedure for the announced posts starts from today onwards i.e August 19, 2020. The forms can be submitted on or before the last date which is September 08, 2020. Cochin Shipyard has also released an official notification in this recruitment on the official website, cochinshipyard.com.
Aspirants recruited under these posts have to undergo a one year apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Amendment Act 1973. They receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,000/- as Graduate Apprentice and Rs. 10, 200/- as Technician (Diploma) Apprentice.
A degree in Engineering or Technology is required to apply for Graduate Apprentice post. Similarly, a diploma in Engineering or Technology is mandatory to submit candidature for Technician (Diploma) Apprentice post. Those candidates who have equivalent educational qualification have to submit equivalency certificates issued by the competent authority. The age limit for the Cochin Shipyard recruitment is as per the apprenticeship rules.
Applications from only the residents of the state of Kerala is invited. Registration and application procedure is organized on the NATS website. Candidates can copy paste the link mentioned here to register themselves – https://portal.mhrdnats.gov.in/boat/commonRedirect/registermenunew!registermenunew.action. After the completion of the registration procedure, candidates can proceed to apply through NATS portal only. They have to apply for the vacancies announced by the CSL (ID No./Registration Number of COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED in NATS Portal is SKLERC000007). The contact details that are provided during the registration should be kept safe. These are used in future to convey information about the recruitment process, releases of admit card, etc. Moreover, there is no application fee for Cochin Shipyard Graduate and Technician Apprentice recruitment.
The selection under apprentice post is based on the marks secured in the basic educational qualification. Before the final selection, a certificate verification round is also conducted. In this round, candidates have to bring all the original certificates in support of educational qualification, date of birth, and other relevant documents. While preparing the merit list, if there is a tie between two candidates then the one who is senior in age is placed high in the merit list.
