COAP 2021 1st Round Result to be announced on 28 May; IITD Revises Dates

IIT Delhi shall be conducting the seat-filling and admission process through a total of 5 rounds scheduled from May 28 to June 27, 2021 in a staggered format.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is scheduled to announce the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2021 Round 1 results on May 28, 2021. The revised schedule for the subsequent rounds has also been published on the official website coap.iid.ac.in. According to the new schedule, Round 1 shall begin from May 28, 2021, and shall go on till Round 5 ending on June 27, 2021. As mentioned on the website, this is a tentative schedule and may be subjected to changes depending on the institute authorities.

COAP 2021 tentative schedule for viewing offers and making the decision has been posted on the official website coap.iitd.ac.in. According to the schedule, Round 1 of admission shall be held from May 28 to 30, 2021. Following this, Round 2 shall be conducted from June 04 to 06, 2021. During both rounds, candidates are permitted to accept and freeze the offer, retain and wait or reject and wait for the next round.

Round 3 of the admission process is likely to be held from June 11 to 13, 2021 while Round 4 is expected from June 18 to 20, 2021. During both these rounds, aspirants can accept and freeze their offers, can or cannot retain and wait or reject and wait for the subsequent round. The last round or Round 5 is expected to be organised from June 25 to 27, 2021. During this round, candidates can either accept the offer or reject and wait for other rounds to be scheduled.  

As per the IIT Delhi authorities, aspirants are permitted to use the “Retain & Wait” option only twice on the same offer. This offer represents a certain programme in a certain institute. Among the five rounds specified, the last round is the decision-making round wherein candidates can either accept an offer or reject it completely. Authorities have also published the tentative dates for conducting additional decision-making rounds if the need arises.

A total of five additional rounds shall be conducted from July 02, 2021, to August 01, 2021. Round A is scheduled from July 02 to 04, 2021 whereas Round B shall be held from July 09 to 11, 2021. Rounds C and D shall be conducted from July 16 to 18, 2021 and July 23 to 25, 2021, respectively. Round E shall be the last independent round to be conducted from July 30 to August 01, 2021.

The five rounds A, B, C, D and E are independent rounds in which candidates can either accept an offer or reject it, as done during Round 5. In case of availability of vacant seats for any programme, additional independent rounds shall be announced later.
