Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) have released the CLAT 2022 notification on the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. According to the notification, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 is all set to be conducted on May 08, 2022. Interested candidates can apply for the test from January 01, 2022. However, they must first ensure their eligibility to take the test. The notification also specifies important details such as eligibility criteria, scheduled of events, application fee, etc.
According to notification, the CLAT 2022 application form is going to be available from January 01 to March 31, 2022. So, candidates have a good 3-months’ time to apply for the exam. Since the application process is entirely online, no candidate is required to send a hard copy of the filled-out form to the authorities.
The exam will be organised for a duration of 2 hours i.e., from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It will be a national-level law entrance exam wherein candidates need to identify and mark the right option in their answer sheets. The paper will be held through the offline mode.
CLAT 2022 shall be conducted for admission to two programmes – 1. UG 5-year Integrated Law Degree and 2. 1-Year LLM Degree. Eligibility criteria for both have been specified in the notification. In case of UG admission, candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 45% marks or its equivalent grade. This requirement has been relaxed to 40% for SC and ST categories. Those appearing for class 12 board exams during the March-April 2022 period are also eligible to apply.
In case of PG admission, candidates must have acquired an LLB degree or its equivalent with 50% marks or its equivalent grade. This criterion has been relaxed to 45% in case of SC and ST categories. Additionally, those appearing for the LLB final-year exams in the March-April 2022 period are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2022.
While applying for CLAT 2022, candidates are expected to pay a certain amount as application fee. This amount is Rs.4000 for general or UR category candidates. However, the value has been reduced to Rs.3500 in case of SC and ST categories.
