After conducting the theory exams earlier, the CBSE board is planning to make some changes in practical exams. So, the Central Board of Secondary Education is likely to conduct the practical exams in the theory examination centres from 2020 session onwards. According to the Director of CBSE Dehradun Zone Mr. Ranveer Singh, the changes that were planned to do in the next session, it is one of them.
If the practical exams will be held externally then the CBSE board will also change the exam pattern and the marking scheme. In the last year, the decision was taken during the examination committee meet. The meet was conducted by the board. After that, the proposal was approved by the governing body of CBSE.
In the previous week, the notification was made public. The controller of the examinations, Mr. Sanyam Bhardwaj signed the notification. As per the official notice, from 2020 session onwards, the practical exams may get conducted in the theory exams centres. The standard operating procedures and the detailed marking scheme may be get implemented.
At present, the CBSE Board conducts the practical exams of class 10 and 12 in the schools itself. The board does not allot any external exam centre for the practical examinations. The practical exams use to be conducted 15 days prior to the theory exams.
This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the practical exams from January 16 to February 15, 2019.
In the previous step, the CBSE Board directed to conduct the practical exams for Humanities also. The objective of this initiative is to make the board exams more relevant and practical based. To decrease the complication of the theory based exams, the board has done so.
This year, the board exams of class 10 and 12 began from February 21 and February 15, 2019, respectively. The timing of both exams is the same i.e. the exams of class 10 and 12 starts from 10:30 am. The last date of class 10 exams is March 29, 2019. For class 12, the board revised the exam dates for some subjects. The exams which were held on March 28, 2019, will now be conducted on April 02, 2019. The last date of class 12 is April 04, 2019. The exams which will be held on the same date were earlier schedule on April 02, 2019.
For the current session, the CBSE Board is planning to announce the result on or before May 10, 2019. However, there is no official notice available for this.
