The CAT 2021 slot 1 exam was held today, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 08:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. MBA aspirants found the exam to be of moderate difficulty level.
With the conclusion of the morning shift exam, several coaching centres, CAT mentors, educators have come up with the exam analysis cum review for the same. It may also be noted that the slot 2 exam has already started at 12:30 p.m. and the same will conclude at 2:30 pm.
The Common Admission Test 2021 question paper was similar to that of last year. However, there were fewer questions this time; there were 66 questions in all.

In it, Sumit Singh Gandhi, the CEO Director of CATKing says that IIM Ahmedabad has leveled up the selection and admission process of one of the finest management candidates with a logical CAT exam. He added that when compared to the CAT 2020 paper, CAT 2021 was of a moderate to difficulty level paper. The DILR, despite being time-consuming and vast in character, was a success. VARC was more reliant on inference. In CAT 2021, students were judged on their reasoning and analytical skills rather than their speed. A methodical and hard-working student will make it to the IIMs with good preparation and aggressive mock practice, Mr Gandhi expressed his viewpoint.
CAT 2021 Slot 1 Review, Analysis by IMS India
IMS India Team said that the paper was as expected and was neither very easy nor very tough. They also mentioned that 70 would be a good attempt in this paper and anyone with good accuracy will surely pass the exam with flying colours. IMS India Experts also said the marking scheme remained the same as the previous year trends. They added that a positive mark of 97-100 could touch a 99%tile score.
More than a dozen analysis, review videos have been published by CAT coaching centers, mentors, educators on youtube. Unanimously, they say that the slot 1 exam had a moderate to difficult difficulty level based on student feedback and professional opinions. VARC was rather straightforward in terms of section-wise analysis, whereas Quantitative Aptitude and DILR were moderate to difficult. The slot 1 exam was of moderate difficulty this year, compared to last year, and students who were well prepared saw no big surprises in the question paper.
