Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is likely to announce the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 exam date between May 7 to 14, 2019. Such is because, last year, IIM announced the exam date on 09 May and per the previous year trends it has been observed that exam date is disclosed by the 2nd week of the month. It is also expected that this year CAT 2019 will be conducted by IIM Kozhikode.
The CAT 2019 date will be revealed at the official website, iimcat.ac.in. The official exam date is yet to announce, still, it can be predicted following the previous year pattern. So, the expected CAT 2019 Exam Date is November 24, 2019. CAT 2019 date is predictable using the 4-5 years data. There are some major observations that help in forecasting the exam date.
First, IIM conducts the CAT exam either on the last Sunday of November or first Sunday of December month, which shortlists two dates ie 24 November and 01 December. Second, IIM releases the exam date early so that it does not clash with other exams. Two years back, CAT exam date clashed with IIFT exam date. Thus, the likely CAT 2019 exam date is 24 November.
The early announcement of CAT 2019 Exam Date will help the aspirants to plan their preparation accordingly. Also, to register and apply for the other exams. So, that there is enough gap for preparation between the two exams. After the release of the exam date, IIM will soon disclose the CAT 2019 Exam conducting body.
Every year, IIMs conduct CAT on a rotational basis. Last year, IIM Calcutta conducted the exam. So, “who will conduct CAT 2019”? This year, IIM Kozhikode is likely to conduct CAT 2019. Similar to the exam date, the exam conducted a body of CAT can be predicted using past years data. In the last 10 years, it is only IIM Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Bangalore are conducting the exam. It is IIM Kozhikode who has not conducted the exam in the second cycle.
Thus, the chances of IIM Kozhikode to conduct the are very high. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this until now. Let’s wait until there is an official declaration by IIM. The CAT exam conducting body plays a significant role in organizing the exam. It has the final say regarding exam pattern, structure, question paper, registration process, etc.
As there are roughly 7 months left for the exam day, candidates must now roll up their sleeves and start the exam preparation now. Check the CAT syllabus, exam pattern, previous year question paper to give the head-start. Learn the topics and take the mock test sectional or full length on a regular basis.
