CAT 2018 Answer Key has been released officially by IIM Calcutta. Candidates can download it from the official website at iimcat.ac.in. The CAT Answer Key 2018 is available in the PDF format for shift 1 and 2 took place on November 25, 2018. In case there is any doubt, candidates can also raise the objections by paying the applicable fee.
The official CAT answer key consists of the right answers against each question. All the correct answers have been marked with Green and incorrect with Red. Candidates can cross verify the answers with the response sheet available on the official website. With the help of answer key, candidates can calculate the raw score according to the performance in the exam.
Candidates can use the answer using the response sheet. After cross-checking the answers, add 3 marks for every correct answer and deduct 1 mark for every incorrect answer. Importantly, there is no negative marking for Non-MCQ type questions.
HOW TO FILE OBJECTIONS?
If there are any doubts can file the objection in the available window. For now, it is visible only at some students’ login. Soon it will be updated for all the candidates. The objection amount has been increased this year by Rs 200/-. This year it is Rs 1200/- per question instead of Rs1000/- last year. The fee is excluding the transaction charge and GST fees.
In order to file the objections, candidates have to click on the “objection” tab. On accessing it, in the new window enter the shift, section name, question Id, type of objection, and remarks. Finally, upload the objections and pay the applicable fee. After the proper scrutiny of the objections, the final key will be released and the fee will be refunded for the valid doubts.
CAT 2018 Result
The result for CAT 2018 will announce in the second week of January 2019. The scorecard will contain the overall and sectional scores secured in the exam this year. The normalization process will take place to get the scaled score and the overall percentile. For admission in top b-schools, candidates must clear sectional and overall percentile of the b-schools accepting CAT 2018 scores.
On the announcement of the result, IIMs will also release the list of candidates who are qualified for the next round. The final selection will be done on the basis of Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI).
