Bihar Public Service Commission is inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill-up 111 vacancies for the post of Head of Department in Government Polytechnics and Government Women Polytechnics. BPSC has published recruitment advertisements 29/2020, 30/2020 and 31/2020 in this regard at the official website i.e. bpsc.bih.gov.in. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the recruitment at the aforementioned website. Registrations are starting from August 28, 2020 and the last date to register is September 16, 2020. Candidates will be able to pay online application fees till September 21, 2020. The last date of submission of applications is September 28, 2020. Hard copies of application and supporting documents must be sent before October 05, 2020.
As per advertisement 29/2020, there are 35 vacancies available for the post in the Mechanical Engineering department. Similarly, 37 vacancies for the HOD post in the Department of Civil Engineering are announced through advertisement 30/2020. In addition, 39 vacancies have also been advertised for the department of Electronics Engineering through advertisement 31/2020. Selected candidates are to be appointed at the Level 13A1 for an initial payment of Rs 1,31,400.
Candidates must at first fulfil the minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. A PhD degree in the relevant Engineering field along with a First Class degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required to apply for recruitment to the post of HOD in the relevant department. In addition, candidates must have 12 years of experience in teaching/research/industry. Out of these 12 years, at least 02 years must be after acquiring the qualification of PhD at the level of Lecturer. The maximum permissible age of the applicants is 33 years. The age of superannuation is 65 years. Candidates are encouraged to refer to the official notification for the complete eligibility conditions and information about relaxations on the upper age limit.
Selection of the eligible applicants is to be done initially on the basis of academic background, academic performance, research performance, domain knowledge and teaching skill. The final selection will be done on the basis of selection interviews carrying 20 marks of the total weightage.

At first, candidates have to register at the website by providing necessary details. Thereafter candidates must pay the application fee of Rs 100 (unreserved). SC/ST, PWD and Female candidates must pay a fee of Rs 25 only. The applications can only be filled up online post successful registration and submission of application fee.
