As per newspaper reports, the Bihar Education Department is going to conduct the Class 9 Annual Exam from March 4, 2021, onwards. The examinations are going to start three months of regular classes. The schools in the state were slated to reopen for regular or physical in-person classes from January 2021. Hence, to regularize classes and prevent delay in the next academic session, the board has decided to conduct the annual exams for Class 9 students in March.
According to the reports, the decision to conduct the Class 9 exam in March was taken at a review meeting held on December 30, 2020. The meeting was chaired by the director of the secondary education department, Giriwar Dayal Singh, to assess preparations done for the reopening of schools from January 4, 2021, onwards.
As per details shared by the Education department, a total number of about 13.17 lakh students have enrolled in Class 9 across the state. Earlier in April, the education department promoted students of classes 1 to 9 and 11 to the next grade without conducting the annual examination due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Additionally. not only Bihar but many other state boards too promoted class 1 to 9 students without conducting the examinations.
Along with the class 9 examination dates, the board has also released the revised academic calendar for session 2021-22. As per the new academic calendar, the first term-exam for Class 9 students is scheduled to be held from July 23, 2021, whereas, the second term exams are going to start from September 21, 2021. Similarly, the academic calendar for class 11 students has also been revised. According to which, the class 11 internal assessment exam is on July 11, 2021. Following the conduct of the exams, schools are also preparing to hold a Parent-Teacher Meeting to discuss the performance of the students with their parents.
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) had earlier released a revised schedule for the Intermediate examination at its official website – biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in. The BSEB Intermediate (Class 12) practical exam is from January 9 and 18, 2021, whereas, the theory exam is scheduled to be conducted from February 1-13, 2021. On the other hand, the Bihar Board 10th exam 2021 is going to be conducted from February 17-24, 2021.
