Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, along with exam dates of AEEE 2019 has recently confirmed that it will be considering candidates with a valid JEE Main 2019 score also for admissions in the academic session of 2019-20. So, for the academic session commencing from 2019, JEE Main candidates will also be able to pursue any B.Tech branches from any of the Amrita University campuses, be it from Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai or Coimbatore.
Candidates who will appear in JEE Main 2019 and will have a valid JEE Main score, will need not go through the Amrita University’s entrance exam – Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE). It is a university level entrance exam conducted in both online and offline i.e pen and paper-based mode. The pen and paper-based test will only be held in Tamil Nadu. AEEE 2019 in online mode will be conducted between April 22 to April 26, 2018, whereas AEEE 2019 in offline mode will be conducted on April 27, 2019.
The online application procedure for AEEE 2019 is said to commence from the first week of October 2018 itself. Interested candidates can fill up their applications, prior to the last date.
JEE Main 2019 examination, on the other hand, will be held twice, on January 06 to 20, 2019 and April 06 to 20, 2019. The application process for which is now going on.
For admissions until last year, Amrita University considered those students for admission who had qualified for AEEE. But for 2019 session, it has confirmed that there will be two channels of admission selection. Candidates will now be able to either apply with their AEEE 2019 scores or with their JEE Main 2019 (January and April session) marks.
National Testing Agency has taken over the responsibility of CBSE to conduct this national level UG engineering and architecture entrance from 2019 onwards. It will be conducting JEE Main 2019 in only online mode for a duration of 3 hours.
Not all the UG level engineering courses are offered across its 5 campuses. While all the 8 B.Tech branches are available in its Coimbatore campus, civil engineering, computer science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering are available at Chennai campus.
B. Tech disciplines like Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering are common to Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Chennai campuses. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is one such course which can only be pursued from either Bengaluru or Coimbatore campus.
Candidates must have secured at least 60% in his or her 10+2 level, with 55% each in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in order to be eligible to apply for AEEE 2019. Furthermore, he or she should have appeared and qualified AEEE 2019 and its counseling round. For JEE Main aspirants, The University will be specifying the minimum score or rank in order to be eligible for admissions to this NIRF ranked 8th best university in India.
