Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has announced that they will not conduct UPSEE 2021. Instead, admission to engineering programs will be through JEE Main 2021 which the NTA will conduct.
The varsity has officially published a notice to this effect. The same was notified publicly vide their official twitter handle @AKTU_Lucknow.
Regarding the scrapping of UPSEE exam, AKTU says that now engineering aspirants of the state will only have to appear in JEE Mains exam, instead of separately appearing for the state level entrance test.
Moreover students can also download the National Test Abhyas app from google play store, for free, to take mock tests and prepare for the exam. Further to helping students in preparing for JEE, University recognized madhyamik schools will also offer free coaching for JEE Main exam.

Nearly 1.5 lakh students used to appear for the UPSEE exam.
It may be noted that UPSEE was held last year for admission to first Year of B. Tech., B.Arch., B.Des., B.Pharm.,
BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, B. Voc., MBA, MBA(Integrated), MCA, MCA (Integrated), M. Tech. (Integrated), M. Tech., M. Arch., MURP, M. Pharm., M. Des.; and second year of B. Tech., B.Pharm., MCA (Lateral Entry). As of now, the cancellation applies only for UPSEE engineering 2021 entrance exam. However it is expected to be held for the rest of the courses.
Until the last year, there were eight different papers in UPSEE.
B. Tech. / MCA(Integrated) /M Tech (Integrated) aspirants had to appear in Paper 1. B. Tech. (Bio Technology) took Paper 1 or Paper 2. B. Pharm. was through Paper 1 or Paper 2. B. Arch. admission was on the basis of Paper 3. B Des. aspirants had to appear in Paper 1 or Paper 2 or Paper 3 or Paper 4. BHMCT / BFAD/BFA/ B Voc/ MBA(Integrated) aspirants took Paper 4.
Lateral Entry admission to MCA. 2nd Year, and B.Tech. 2nd Year (for B. Sc. Graduates) was through Paper 5. Lateral entry to B.Pharm 2nd Year (for Pharmacy Diploma Holders) was through Paper 7. And lateral admission to B.Tech. 2nd Year (for Engg. Diploma Holders) was through Paper 8.
Admission to MBA/MCA was through Paper 6.
