In National Investigation Agency, there has arisen a total of 71 vacancies in the posts of inspector and sub inspector. For the former, there are 30 vacancies, and for the latter there are 41. Inspector post is in level 7 of the pay matrix, whereas sub inspector in level 6.
For these vacancies, NIA has started a recruitment process on deputation basis.
Eligible officials can apply with requisite documents in such a way that their applications should reach the concerned authorities by the closing date of this recruitment, which is 1 month from the date of release of the notification in employment news.
Annexure II of the notifications the prescribed proforma for bio data to be submitted, countersigned by the competent authority. That with up to date APAR dossier from 2014-15 to 2018-19 needs to be submitted, as well as vigilance clearance and integrity certificate, details of major and minor penalties in last 10 years need to be submitted.
NIA Inspector position is classified as general central service group B non gazetted non ministerial position. Such candidates are eligible for the post who are officers of the central government or state or UT government, and possess educational qualification necessary. The required qualifications are bachelors degree with 2 years experience in handling cases of investigation of criminal cases or any one of intelligence, operations, information technology cases, training in counter terrorism.
The position of sub inspector comes under the classification of general central service group B non gazetted non ministerial. Again officers of central, state, UT government are eligible for this post. For this post as well one should have bachelors degree and at least 2 years in handling criminal investigation cases or those in the nature of work of intelligence, operations, information technology, counter terrorism training.
In the application form to be sent to the agency, candidates need to write their name and address, date of birth, date of retirement, educational qualifications, essential qualifications, desired qualifications, details of employment in chronological order, whether working in feeder grade or non feeder grade, and such relevant information.
To be an accompany to CIO (Chief Investigation Officer), part of raid or search or seizure team, part of witness examination team, securing crime scene, summon and warrant execution, court matters dealing, intelligence collection, verifying ground and intelligence inputs, analysing intelligence will be a part of the job profile for inspector. A sub inspector will have these duties and also to guard and secure accused in custody. Both have to perform other duties that are assigned by superior authorities from time to time.
