VIT has announced the rescheduling of slot 2B of the VITEEE 2021 exam. The slot 2B was supposed to start from 11 AM today. However, due to technical issues faced by the codetantra platform that they are using for the ORPE, as reported here, the exam being is being hereby rescheduled to tomorrow.
The new date and time for slot 2B is May 30, 2021, 11 AM.
Initially its timing was from May 29, 2021, 11 AM.
The official announcement has been made at vit.ac.in. Candidates may also receive emails and sms about the new exam date. It is not clear whether they will get fresh admit cards for the new exam date or not. For this too, candidates should check their emails and sms from time to time.
It may be noted that VIT has not made any change in the rest of the exam dates and slots. The next slot 2C is today from 1:30 pm, then 2D from 4 PM. Whatever issues codetantra app is facing at the moment, is expected to be resolved by the time 2C starts.
No exam slots were initially planned for tomorrow. However now rescheduled 2B will be held tomorrow, from 11 am. Thereafter slots 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D will all be held on May 31, 2021, from 8:30 am, 11 am, 1:30 pm, and 4 pm respectively on Monday.
Why has VITEEE 2021 been rescheduled?
As soon as slot 2B candidates tried to login at 11 am, they started facing multiple issues. Either the website (viteee.codetantra.com) was not loading, or showing HTTP 404 error, page not found, or simply a blank screen. Typically these issues arise in case of server load. The reasons behind the technical issues are not clear in this case.
VITEEE is being held as a online remote proctored examination for the first time. The decision to change the exam mode was taken keeping the health and safety of students as priority.
No major issues were reported in the last five slots.
The same exam mode – remote proctored – has been adopted by multiple institutes holding entrance exams this time. Some of the notable names of entrance exams in RPE mode are SRMJEEE 2021, KIITEE 2021, AEEE 2021. All three have held first phase of the entrance exams and also announced their results.
National level engineering entrance exams JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2021 are as of now deferred. Their new exam dates will depend on class 12 board exam dates, which are expected to be announced by June 1.
