SRM placement 2019-20 started on July 22, 2019, and so far 600 companies have made about 7744+ job offers to the students. The highest offer made on the campus is by Microsoft for 41.6 lakhs per annum. The big four IT companies, TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, have offered impressive 4749 placements which are 1729 more than last year. The SRM placement session is only halfway through and it is expected that by the ends April / May 2020 more companies shall visit the campus.
Other top recruiters include Amazon, which made 18 offers of 32 lakhs per annum. Barclays offered 25 placements of 10 lakhs per annum and Udaan took 4 students on 30 lakhs per annum. Internship linked placements offers were made by Veritas and Pay Pal.
This placement session is most phenomenal for SRM Institute of Science and Technology. On the day one, TCS offered 1437 placements for Ninja Track and 183 for Digital Track. The total number of offers made by Infosys is 1315 and the same by Cognizant and Wipro is 1175 and 822. SRMIST Director, Career Centers, Sriram S Padmanabha informed that this is the highest number of offers made by these companies.
SRM University organized a centralized placement process this year, at Kattankulathur campus. Students from all the campuses, including Modinagar, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, said Padmanabhan came to a common campus for placement. As per Padmanabha, the companies are drawn towards SRM students because of their cosmopolitan composition. The University arranges a mock interview and works towards advancing computing skills so that they are ready for the placements.
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) which is home to over 20,000 students, centralised the placement process at its Kattankulathur campus near Chennai and brought students from its other campuses in Modinagar, Ramapuram and Vadapalani for the placement process.
