Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has released the answer key of National Science Olympiad (NSO) 2019 today. Available for download at sofworld.org, the NSO answer keys have correct answers of all sections of the exam including achievers section, science, and logical reasoning for classes 1st to 10th, and physics, chemistry, mathematics / biology, achievers section for class 11th and 12th.
However right now, only the answer key for Set A has been made available.
Candidates can download the answer key from sofworld.org, from the direct link sofworld.org/answers-keys-cut-2019. Clicking the link on text “SOF NSO answer keys Set A” opens the page where for each of the classes from 1st to 12th, a separate answer key has been published.
The direct link to download all SOF NSO answer keys 2019 for set A is sofworld.org/sof-nso-answer-keys-set-2019. All the answer keys are in pdf format. Anyone can download them without the requirement of any login.
22nd NSO was held on November 11 and 21, 2019. Set A answer key means the answer key of exam held on the first day, that is November 11, 2019. The answer key of set B, that is for the exam held on November 21, 2019 is still awaited. Considering that the first one is out, the second one should be on the way, and should be available soon.
After the exam was held, coaching centres such as Resonance and Motion IIT JEE had released their versions of the exam solutions. However the answers that will be actually used for marking are those in the official answer key released by SOF. Hence it is recommended that even if one had checked answer keys of coaching centres after the exam, the official version should be referred to get a better idea of predicted scores.
Students who had appeared for the olympiad had been eagerly waiting for the SOF NSO answer key 2019. Though a larger demand was for the set B answer keys, primarily because although many coaching centres released answer keys for set A, only few had done so for set B.
Last year SOF had conducted National Science Olympiad on November 1 and 27, and declared results on December 26. If a similar timeline is followed this time, then the results of the 22nd NSO are likely to be out by December 20, 2019.
Science Olympiad Foundation will declare the result at results.sofworld.org/results. Students will need to enter their roll number only to check their results. Besides knowing whether they have qualified for level 2, students also get a performance report.
For class 1 and 2 students, SOF will give awards on the basis of level 1 exam only. For the rest of the classes, students will be shortlisted for level 2 on the basis of this level 1 exam. Then in the second level, the criteria of ranking will be marks scored in the level 2 exam, marks of level 1 will not be used for final ranking. However in case of a tie, the first step of breaking a tie will be marks scored in sections in level two exam accorded higher priority, then marks scored in level one exam will be used, and then marks scored in sections in level one exam accorded higher priority.
