Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, Srinagar has released a recruitment notification to engage eligible candidates for the post of Microbiologist/Research Scientist and Lab Technician. SKIMS has announced 04 vacancies for Microbiologist and 06 for Lab Technician. The recruitment is on contractual basis for a period of 03 months which is extendable up to one year. During this tenure, shortlisted candidates for Microbiologist/Research Scientist are offered the salary of Rs.50,000/- per month and Lab Technician Rs.30,000/- per month. Candidates can download the detailed notification with advt no 02/2020 and application form from the official website, skims.ac.in. The forms can be submitted on or before the last date of submission i.e. July 05, 2020.
The process to submit the form is conducted through an online process only. Candidates have to make a single PDF file of the application form and all the documents and mail it to the [email protected]. Candidates have to attach completely filled application form with the photograph attached/affixed at the specified place, certificates to support the eligibility of the candidates, experience certificate of the speciality, research publications, permanent residence certificate/domicile certificate, date of birth certificate, any other required document. The application form is not accepted after the last date of submission.
Candidates who fulfil the minimum age limit of 18 years as on January 01, 2020, can submit their representations for the announced posts. To apply for the post of Microbiologist/Research Scientist candidates should have MD/DNB Microbiology from a medical college recognized by MCI or PhD in Microbiology/PhD in Biotechnology. Candidates who have B.Sc Medical Lab Technology are eligible for the post of Lab Technician. However, preference is given to those candidates who possess a higher qualification.
The selection to these posts is based on the interview round that is conducted by SKIMS, Srinagar. Candidates have to be present along with the requisite certificate/degree (in original) before the Selection Committee at the specified interview centre. Aspirants must regularly visit the official website, to know the centre and schedule for interview. No call letters are issued to the candidates at the time of the interview. Also, SKIMS does not provide travel allowance for participation in the interview.
Candidates are appointed on a temporary basis of 03 months. For this, they have to sign an agreement with SKIMS stating he/she shall not leave the department before 03 months. In special cases, candidates are allowed to leave before the specified term ends. However, they have to inform the recruiting body about the same 01 months before leaving. The salary of this one month notice period is paid to candidates after the completion of the sanctioned term.
