Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced the exam date for Food Safety Officer (FSO) recruitment 2019. The exam will be held on November 25, 2019, from 9 am to 12 noon.
RPSC published the exam date notification yesterday, at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in. candidates can find it under news and events, as ‘Press Note Regarding Exam Date for Food Safety Officer 2019’.
The commission will release admit cards in online mode for applicants. Whereas date of admit card release has not been published, the e-call letter is expected to be made available around 3-7 days prior to exam; this being the usual timeline for RPSC admit cards.
When available, candidates will have to visit rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in and navigate to the admit card download page, login with application ID and date of birth. The admit card will contain roll number, exam center, and exam day instructions. For the exam, candidates need to take such documents as mentioned in the admit card.
The syllabus for RPSC FSO 2019 was released last month. Syllabus for screening test for the post of Food Safety Officer in Medical and Health Services Department has been explained therein. As per it there will be an objective type paper with 150 questions of 150 marks. The exam will be three hours long. All questions will carry equal marks and there will also be negative marking. Syllabus comprises of 14 units.
This month, another important notification was released regarding Food Safety Officer recruitment. It was about the selection process. As per the decisions taken by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, selection will be on the basis of screening test, academic performance, and interview.
There will be weightage of 40 marks for the screening test, 20 marks for academics, and 40 marks for interview. To calculate marks in exam out of 40, first the marks in screening test will be divided by the total marks of the screening test. Then this will be multiple by 40.
After the exam, RPSC will release answer keys for the FSO exam. Objections shall also be invited at the same time, and only on basis of final answers, papers will be scored.
RPSC FSO 2019 is for the recruitment of Food Safety Officers, for which there are 98 vacancies. Applications were invited from August 9 to September 8. For these posts, candidates with degree or masters degree in prescribed subjects, and having successfully completed training as per Food Authority could apply.
Candidates with degree in food technology, dairy technology, biotechnology, oil technology, agriculture science, veterinary science, bio-chemistry, microbiology were invited. Masters degree in chemistry, or degree in medicine candidates could also apply. Candidates are also required to have working knowledge of hindi in devnagri script as well as knowledge of Rajasthani culture. This post is eligible for L11 of the pay matrix with grade pay Rs 4,200.
