RBSE Class 10 Board Exams to Be Held Twice a Year from 2027

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced that Class 10 board exams will be conducted twice a year starting from 2027. The move is aimed at giving students more flexibility and reducing the pressure associated with a single annual board examination.

According to the update, students will be able to appear for the first exam session in February and another improvement or second attempt in May. The policy is expected to benefit students who want an opportunity to improve their scores within the same academic year.

This change aligns with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages reforms in the examination system to make assessments more student-friendly.

Key Highlights of the RBSE Decision

• Board: Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE)
• Class: Class 10
• Implementation Year: 2027
• Exam Frequency: Twice a year
• First Session: February
• Second Session: May

The board aims to make the evaluation system more flexible so that students do not feel excessive pressure from a single high-stakes examination.

Why RBSE Is Introducing Two Board Exams

The decision is part of broader education reforms taking place across the country. The National Education Policy suggests that board examinations should test core competencies and give students multiple opportunities to perform well.

By allowing two attempts in a year, the board hopes to:

• Reduce exam stress among students
• Provide a chance to improve scores
• Encourage better learning rather than rote preparation
• Align with modern assessment practices

Students who are not satisfied with their marks in the first exam session can choose to appear again in the second session.

How the Two-Exam System Will Work

Under the proposed system, students will first take the RBSE Class 10 board exam in February. After the results are declared, those who wish to improve their marks will be able to appear in the second session scheduled in May.

The board is expected to consider the best score obtained by the student while preparing the final result.

Detailed guidelines regarding registration, evaluation, and result preparation are likely to be released closer to the implementation year.

Impact on Students

The introduction of two board exams is expected to bring several advantages for students. It reduces the risk associated with a single exam attempt and allows students to improve their academic performance within the same year.

Many education experts believe this system will help students focus more on understanding concepts rather than preparing only for one final examination.

Further details about the RBSE Class 10 exam pattern, schedule, and implementation process are expected to be announced by the board in the coming years.
