Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has released the results of the Class 8th and Class 10th, 2021 exams on the official website today. As per reports, 99.93% of candidates have passed the Class 10 boards this year while 99.87% of candidates have passed Class 8 this year. The marks have been awarded on the basis of internal assessments following the Board’s decision to cancel both the exams this year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Candidates can check the official result document on the website pseb.ac.in. As per statements of PSEB chairman Yogesh Sharma, similar to previous year, majority of the qualifiers are girls in both Class 8 and Class 10. As per reports, out of the 307272 candidates who were registered for the Class 8 exams, 306893 candidates have passed the exam. Similarly out of 321384 candidates who were registered for the Class 10 board exams this year, 321161 candidates have passed.
The Board did not conduct any examination this year for evaluation of the merit of Class 8 and Class 10 candidates. Instead, PSEB has evaluated the candidates on the basis of merit in internal assessments conducted by such schools. Surprisingly, the government schools seem to have performed better in 2021 exams, the PSEB chairman Y. Sharma was quoted saying to major media platforms. Sharma also stated that candidates who have got compartment or aim to improve their score will be given a chance to appear in an exam once the situations become conducive to conduct physical exams.
PSEB Class 10 and Class 8 results 2021 can be checked on the official website i.e. pseb.ac.in. On the homepage of the official website, candidates can check the result by clicking on the Results tab on the top dashboard and thereby clicking on the respective links to check the result of each class. It may be noted that candidates must know their roll number in order to search and download the result from the website. They have to search for the result using the roll number. Alternatively, candidates can also search by name to check the PSEB 2021 result.
PSEB Class 10 board exams were earlier scheduled to be held from May 04 to 24, 2021. However, the board was pushed to cancel the exams amidst the novel Coronavirus pandemic in India. Candidates are advised to visit the official website for any further updates and latest developments in this regard.
