NEET 2021 Exam Date Announcement by 20 or 25 January; Exam May Be Twice

In a recent media talk, Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that he will be disclosing exam date for National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) 2021 in next 10 to 15 days. Hence, students can expect that NEET 2021 exam date and details will be out by January 20-25, 2021.

The minister also said that they are exploring all the possibilities to conduct NEET twice a year. This is being done keeping in view concerns of students.

Usually NEET is held in first Sunday of May month. This year, the first Sunday of May is in 02 May 2021.

Last year, the NEET examination was conducted on September 13, 2020, after getting postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 13.66 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam out of which 7,71,500 candidates cleared the entrance test.

The students have been requesting the Education Minister over social media to increase the number of NEET 2021 attempts. To this, the education minister recently hinted at the possibility of conducting NEET 2021 twice this year during a conversation with India TV Digital. He clarified that the ministry is currently exploring all options to conduct the entrance test twice.

National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier, written a letter to the concerned ministry regarding the issue. It asked the Union Health Ministry about the feasibility of conducting the exam twice to ease the burden and stress faced by students during the pandemic.

Dates of two major exams namely JEE Main 2021 and CBSE 2021 board exams were recently announced. JEE Main is scheduled to be conducted from February 23, 2021. Moreover, the number of attempts has increased from two to four amid the problems created by the pandemic. CBSE 2021 class 10 and 12 board exams are all set to commence from May 4, 2021. Along with this, the education board has also announced a 30% reduction in board syllabus.

NEET is a national-level entrance exam conducted every year for candidates who wish to pursue MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses. This is the singular medical entrance test conducted in specific centers across the country. By qualifying this exam, candidates can get admission to prestigious medical institutions in the country based on their score and rank. Every year, nearly 15 lakh students appear for this exam.
