NEET 2021 Exam Centre List

National Testing Agency is also set to conduct the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 on September 12, 2021, through the pen-and-paper mode. According to the newly-appointed Education Minister of India, NEET 2021 will be conducted across 198 cities in the country as opposed to 155 last year.

This 27.7% increase in the number of exam cities this year is being done in view of the pandemic – the ultimate goal will be to accommodate fewer students in each room, so that there is ample social distancing between them.

Moreover, the number of examination centres shall be increased this year as opposed to 3862 centres for allotted for NEET 2020. The number of centres has been increased to ensure that all social-distancing norms are in place while conducting the national-level medical entrance exam.

Last year, states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal contained the maximum number of examination cities to conduct the NEET 2020 examination. Major tier-1 and tier-2 cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mysore, Bengaluru, Pune, etc had cities spread across their territories to conduct the exam. This year, it is expected that these cities will have to accommodate more centres to conduct the NEET 2021 examination. This is to ensure that there is no overcrowding outside of centres.

As per the Education Minister’s announcement, NEET 2021 shall be conducted across 198 cities in the country. Hence, approximately 5000 centres is expected to be allocated for the purpose of conducting the entrance exam. Applicants shall be permitted to choose four of their preferred exam cities while filling the application form. NTA shall be allocating centres to candidates based on their preferences and the availability of centres in the respective cities. In case a candidate opts for a regional language, he/she will be allotted a centre in that region for NEET accordingly. After the registration process, students will get know their exact exam centres and time of reporting through their admit cards.

The NEET 2021 registration process is scheduled to begin today, July 13, 2021, at 5:00 pm. The process shall take place through the online mode on the official website ntaneet.nic.in. While filling the application form, candidates have to provide four city codes in the order of their priority. For convenience, candidates must choose their city of residence followed by neighbouring city within the respective state. A correction window may be provided later to change the city preference. Hence, to ensure that they do not face any inconvenience, candidates must choose their examination cities carefully.

NEET 2021 is going to be conducted on September 12, 2021, through the OMR-based offline mode. Unlike popular opinions and speculations, NEET 2021 shall be conducted only once, without any changes in the mode of conduction. The medical entrance exam shall be conducted across various centres in the country for around 15 lakh aspirants. Candidates who qualify the exam and get a good rank shall be able to pursue courses like MBBS, BDS, paramedical, homoeopathy, etc in reputed medical institutes.

Here is the list of exam cities of last year. This year’s exam cities list will be made available via the information brochure shortly.
