Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has disclosed the exam dates for July and January 2019 session admission. Candidates who want to get admission in MD/MS courses in the medical college that now enjoys institute of national importance status, can now check the exam dates.
Every year JIPMER releases an examination calendar. Whereas the 2018-2019 calendar published several months ago already had the JIPMER PG 2019 dates of January session exam, the recently published 2019-2020 calendar now shows dates for July session too.
JIPMER PG 2019 (January Session) Exam Dates
For the January 2019 session, the application process will start from September 17, 2018, and the registrations will be closed on October 26, 2018. The entrance exam will be held on December 02, 2018.
JIPMER PG 2019 (July Session) Exam Dates
According to the recent notice, the online registration for the July 2019 session will begin from February 28, 2019, while the closing date of the registration process is April 01, 2019. After the completion of the application process, the online exam will be conducted on may 19, 2019.
Jipmer has the right to reschedule the dates of exams as well as the dates of counselling under any circumstances.
Those candidates who will fulfill the eligibility criteria will be able to appear for the online exam. For postgraduation, the candidate must be Indian. However, foreign candidates will also be able to apply for the same course but the terms and conditions will differ for their admissions. With regards to education qualification, the aspirants must possess MBBS or an equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
JIPMER PG 2019 entrance exam will be conducted as a computer-based test. It will be held in only one shift for 3 hours. There will be total 250 questions in the exam containing 100 questions from basic clinical sciences and 150 from clinical sciences. The entrance exam will be held in 11 cities such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pondicherry, Trivandrum, Vijayawada.
After the completion of the online exam, JIPMER will release the merit list. The candidates who will obtain the minimum qualifying percentile will get the place in the merit list. The qualifying criteria are different for the various category candidates.
At last, the counselling process will take place. For the January 2019 session, the counselling will be held on December 19, 2018, January 09, 2019, January 31, 2019, and the final counselling will be conducted on February 25, 2019.
If we talk about the July 2019 session admission, then the first counselling will take place on June 12, 2019, the second on July 05, 2019, the third on July 31, 2019, and the final counselling on August 28, 2019.
JIPMER PG 2020 (January Session) Exam Dates
JIPMER has also disclosed the dates of January 2020 session for MD/MS course. The application process will be done from September 18, 2019, to October 25, 2019. The online exams will be conducted on December 08, 2019 and the counselling process will take place on December 13, 2019.
