The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released the application forms for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022. Quite similar to the pattern followed previously, the undergraduate engineering entrance examination will be held four times this year. However, candidates seem to be bewildered as the application process should have begun by now.
If there are four sessions for the examination, then as per previous year trends, the first session falls in February, 2022. Nevertheless, so far, there has been no official update regarding the availability of the application forms. The JEE Main 2022 application form should have been out by December, 2021 but that has clearly not been the case. In an attempt to have an idea as to when the application process will begin, let’s take a look at the previous year trends.

What do these trends say?
As understood from the previous year trends, the application process for the February session of JEE main exam started and ended well before time. The students got almost a month’s time to complete the application process. Taking cues from these trends, it becomes difficult to provide a tentative date since the application process should have been completed by now.
Before starting with the registration process, NTA usually releases an official notification declaring the dates. As per a media report released recently, the application process is likely to begin by this. With only two days left for January, 2022 to end, there are slim chances that this might happen. As such, students can expect the application process to be held in February, 2022.
JEE Main Exam Date
Similar to the JEE Main 2022 application form release date, there has been no official update regarding the exam dates as well. However, going by various sources, it can now be understood that there is a high chance for the examination to be conducted before March 20, 2022. On the other hand, due to the imminent elections in the states, it seems unlikely that the JEE Main 2022 exam will be held before March 10, 2022.
Why has there been a delay?
Experts on YouTube are of the opinion that the delay in releasing the JEE Main 2022 application form is due to the elections and not mainly the COVID-19 situation. In 2021, the pandemic situation was no different but despite that, the application forms were released on time. However, if the registration process begins in the first week of February 2022, then there are chances for the exam date to get delayed since the entire process takes nearly a month’s time.
