As a April fools prank, with pure intention of fun, many videos and posts with message "JEE Main 2021 Cancelled" has been surfacing over the net. Disclaimer! NTA has not cancelled the phase 3 and 4 of JEE Main 2021. These are pranks played for April 01, 2021.

Circulation of fake news on social media is very common these days and April fool’s day was the perfect opportunity for the same. “JEE Main 2021 has been cancelled / scrapped” message has been circulated over the internet in the past 24 hours. However, this is just a joke on April 1 and students must not fall for it.

Many videos and internet posts have been surfacing with the message that JEE Main 2021 April and May sessions have been cancelled. Few post even says that the AIR will be based on the scores of the candidates in the February and March session and will be available in the month of April. This is not true. NTA or education ministry has not announced any such details.

Candidates must be beware that this is just a light-hearted joke that is being shared over the web. Students have engaged with such posts over the web. However, these comments were all witty and were shared as a fun element.

While some students were caught in this, others were quick to realise the actual case. A comment read “I thought it was real since covid cases are increasing drastically”. Another read “My heart skipped a beat. I was about to cry. But then, saw “thora mazak bhee zaroori hai” statement in the description and it was such a relief!”.

NTA will hold JEE Main 2021 April and May session as per the schedule. The April exam will be held on April 27 to 30, 2021, and dates for the May exam are May 24 to 28, 2021. The admit card for the April exam is expected to be out soon on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Right now, NTA is accepting JEE Main 2021 application form for the April and May exams. The last date to apply is April 4, 2021 and the application fee can be submitted till April 5, 2021. Also, those who have already applied for the session but do not wish to appear can withdraw their form.

Clearing out another doubt, AIR of JEE Main will be announced after the May exam. Following it, dates for JoSAA counselling will be declared. In the counselling, JEE Rank holders will get seat in NITs, and CFTIs.

Apart from JEE Main 2021 cancelled prank, another prank is also running which is “Class 10 and 12 board exam cancelled”. These short videos are meant to bring some break from the seriousness of the exam preparations. Therefore students should not take them seriously and make sure that they continue with their preparation like they were.
