JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 Exam Starts Today, At 9:30 AM; 9,35,741 Students To Appear For B.E./B.Tech Exam

JEE Main 2019 paper 1 exam is starting from April 08, 2019. On the first day today, the candidates have already started to take the exam from 9:30 Am onwards. The shift 1 will end at 12:30 PM and the shift 2 will start from 2:30 PM. 9,35,741 Students will be appearing for the paper 1 exam over the period of 4 days i.e. April 08, 09, 10 and 12, 2019. There will be 2 shifts each day. Each shift is of 3 hours. The exam is being held in the online mode and there are 90 MCQ type questions asked.

There are 3 sections in the question paper. 30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are asked. There are 4 marks per question and for each wrong answer, 1 marks are deducted.

For the April attempt, a total of 10,51,508 candidates have registered. Of them, 9,35,741 candidates are appearing for paper 1 and the rest 1,15,767 are appearing for paper 2. In paper 1 out of the 9,35,741 candidates, 6,73,457 are males and 2,62,281 are females.

To curb cheating at the JEE Main 2019 exam centers, NTA has installed CCTV cameras and each and every exam center is equipped with Jammers. The candidates are advised to reach the exam center on time. No candidate is allowed to enter the exam hall after the gate closing time.

For shift 1 the reporting time at the exam center is 7.30 a.m. – to 8.30 a.m for shift 1 and for shift 2 it is 12.30 p.m. – to 1.30 p.m. Entry at the exam room is allowed between 8.45 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. for shift 1 and between 1.45 p.m. to 2.00 p.m for shift 2. the exam goes on for 3 hours without any breaks and the candidates are not allowed to leave the exam center before the exam ends.

The diabetic candidates are allowed to take inside the exam hall limited eatables, like sugar tablets, fruits (like banana/apple/orange) and transparent water bottle. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwich, etc.

Other candidates are not allowed to take any other item except for the JEE Main 2019 admit card, a passport-sized photo, and a valid photo Id proof. The candidates are given a pen and rough sheet inside the exam center itself to solve the problems. Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of the sheet and must return the sheets and Admit Card to the Invigilator, before leaving the Examination Hall/Room

The candidates are clearly advised not to carry any Instrument/ Geometry/ Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, to wear/carry any type of watch including Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room.

The result of the paper 1 exam will be announced by April 30, 2019. Before the declaration of the result, the candidates will be also getting their response sheet and question paper 2-3 days after the exam is over. NTA uploads them at jeemain.nic.in under the candidates’ login.

Also, NTA uploads the answer key and allows the candidates to challenge the same officially, at jeemain.nic.in. the answer keys are usually uploaded one day after the uploading of the response sheet and question paper.

This time NTA will also release the AIR of the candidates. The AIR will be based on best NTA scores of the candidates out of both the attempts. The admission in the NITS, IIITs and CFTIs will be based on the All India Ranks of the candidates in JEE Main 2019.
