Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has advertised 25 contractual vacancies for various teaching and non-teaching posts at the official website iitg.ac.in. The IIT in Assam will conduct an online interview for recruitment to posts such as Project Engineer, Assistant Project Engineer, JRF and others. A detailed recruitment notification is available in this regard at the official website as specified above. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to fill up the application form available through a link within the advertisement and upload their updated CV one or before the last date i.e. December 15, 2020. The online interview is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on December 21, 2020.
As per the detailed recruitment notification published by IIT Guwahati, the vacancies are available under the project titled “TIH on Technology for Underwater Exploration” in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Institute. There are 09 vacancies available for the post of Associate Project Engineer in various disciplines. In addition, 07 vacancies are also available for the post of Project Technician in various disciplines and 07 vacancies are available for the post of Junior Research Fellow in various disciplines. Intending candidates can also apply for the post of Project Engineer for which, 02 vacancies are available.

Associate Project Engineer posts for which, the minimum eligibility criteria is Graduate degree are entitled to receive a total monthly salary of Rs 34310. On the other hand, Master’s degree Associate Project Engineer posts are entitled to receive a total monthly salary of Rs 41850. For the posts of Project Engineer, the monthly total salary is Rs 18650. Junior Research Fellow post holders are also entitled to receive a total monthly salary of Rs 18650 while for the post of Project Engineer, the total monthly salary is Rs 58090. Selected candidates are to be appointed for a contractual period of 11 months only.
Candidates applying for the post of Project Engineer must be holding a PhD qualification in Mechanical Engineering. For the posts of JRF, applicants must have an M.Sc./B.Tech qualification in relevant disciplines. Candidates intending to apply for the posts of Project Technician must have B.Com + 3 years of Computer experience or ITI and 3 years of Diploma in Engineering qualification as per respective disciplines of the posts. Candidates holding an M.Tech degree in respective disciplines and relevant experience can apply for Assistant Project Engineer posts. In addition, for Graduate Assistant Project Engineer posts, candidates must have a B.tech degree in relevant disciplines with valid GATE score.
