Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has redirected the new website for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering-2020 to gate.iitm.ac.in. On June 04, GATE 2020 official website, gate.iitd.ac.in, was launched. However, now IIT D has redirected it to old GATE website which was used by IIT Madras for the exam held in the last session.
Some are considering this as an indication for early announcement of GATE 2020. The information brochure for the exam is expected to release in the 1st week of September 2019. However, frequent changes in the website are hinting to the early release of the brochure and the dates.
IITs are always on time in the conduct of GATE. Last year, IIT Madras launched the website with all the details but soon took it down. Then after a month or so, the same website was made live. Throughout the session, on the same website GATE activities were hosted.

The website is usually easy to understand and has 8 major tabs for Home, Brochure, Advertisement, GATE International, Pre-Exam, Post-EXam, FAQs, Contact Us. The Home page contains all the on-going and upcoming information, whereas, from the Brochure and the Advertisement section candidates get to static information about the exam.
In the Pre-Exam sections, the IITs provides syllabus, previous year question paper with answer key, mock test, etc which helps students with the preparation. The details about eligibility and needed documents and GOAPS Login is also provided under this section. Post-exam is useful after the exam is being conducted and from the FAQs section, the candidates can seek solutions to their queries. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level entrance exam for PG admissions in Engineering at the IITs. Through GATE score, candidates get admission in IITs, NITs, CFTIs, and IIITs. The GATE 2020 Registrations are expected to begin in September 2019. Eligible candidates will be able to apply for 1 subject paper, out of 25.
GATE is held for a total duration of 3 hours. The exam is a computer-based test and there are 65 questions carrying 100 marks. There are two kinds of questions in the GATE exam, MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and NAT (Numerical Answer Type) Questions. The exam has negative markings too. The exam held in the English language only.
To prepare for the GATE 2020 exam the candidates can take help of the previous years’ questions and the online mock tests. It is recommended that the candidates start the preparation as early as possible as the exam is not a cake walk. Competition in GATE is stiff, as only 15% to 17% qualify the exam. Around 10 lakh candidates apply for the exam.
