GATE 2022 admit cards are going to be released tomorrow for the upcoming entrance examination. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is scheduled to be held from February 5 to 13, 2022. With merely one month left for the examination, the conducting body IIT Kharagpur shall release the admit card of GATE 2022 on the official website, gate.iitkgp.ac.in tomorrow.
Earlier, the GATE admit card was supposed to be released on January 03, 2022, but citing some undisclosed reason the admit card release was postponed. The admit card is one of the most important documents for the GATE 2022 exam since it comprises the exam date, reporting time, exam center name, etc. Once the admit card is released, candidates have to only enter their enrolment id and password to download and check the same.

Amid the release of the admit card, a large section on aspirants is demanding the postponement of the GATE exam. The reason put forth by the student’s body is the rapid increase in the covid-19 infection in the country. This time the virus is increasing at a very high rate which can be dangerous for the students and exam authorities both. GATE being a popular exam will lead to mass gatherings thus becoming a spot for the virus to breed.
Another reason that has compelled the students to raise this concern is the state-wise lockdown imposed by the administration. With the idea of containing the spread of the virus, this time the state government is better equipped and has imposed weekend lockdowns, night curfews, and a lot more restrictions at various places.
As of now, the GATE authorities have kept a mum and refrained from commenting on the whole situation. However, as per inside sources, the authorities are keeping an eye on the whole situation and have been closely monitoring things. Hence, till the time there is an official word from the exam board itself, the exam is not postponed and candidates should keep their preparations on. Another piece of advice that can be helpful to candidates is keeping a tab only on the official website and not resorting to social media platforms much as the news mostly available there is fake and misleading.
GATE exam is held annually to provide admission to Engineering students to higher learning programmes such as M.Sc and M.Tech offered by leading IITs. Other than this, the scorecard is also used by the candidates to take up jobs in top-notch PSUs of the country.
