Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019 Registration has been started by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras on August 31, 2018. Though the registration has begun it is important that you take proper measures to avoid any mistakes in the form. As any error can lead to the rejection of the form or the cancellation of the admission.
So, the first thing that you must keep in mind is the eligibility criteria. Graduates form Science and Engineering background can appear for the exam, given that they have qualified the degree examination in the specified year. Moreover, there is no age limit for GATE 2019.
Next, you must keep all the important documents ready it will help to enter the details correctly and validate them simultaneously. Keeping the graduation certificates issued by Head of Departement, Identity Proof, Scanned Photograph & Signature, and online banking details will help to fill the form smoothly without any errors. You must upload a 3.5 cm Width × 4.5 cm height photograph of size between 2KB & 200KB in JPEG format only.
Similarly, before the registration, it is essential that you know the application fee of GATE 2019. The fee is Rs 750/- for the female and the SC / ST / PWD students, whereas it is Rs 1500/- for other students. In case, applicants fail to submit the form in time then they can still pay the registration fee with an additional charge of Rs 500/-.
In the GATE Application Form, you will have to select the one out of 24 subjects. Thus, you must choose the subject according to your preference and the degree qualification. In addition to that choose the subject code accordingly. Until last year there used to be 23 subjects in GATE, but from this year only the 24th subject “Statistics” is added.
Most important is the correct registration link for GATE 2019. You must know that you have to first apply via valid email id and phone number through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). It is available at official website gate.iitm.ac.in. Only after the successful registration, you will able to access the GATE application form.
Even after filling the form with all the necessary instructions, it is possible that you find some mistakes in the form after the final submission. Until last year to solve the conundrum of the students, the exam conducting body used to open the application form correction window to edit details in the form. Even in the same window, the body will mark the errors in the form. Such that candidates can identify the errors and rectify the same.
The GATE 2019 is registration is available only for 22 days until September 21, 2018. Whereas to submit the form with late registration fee is October 01, 2018. The last date to request change in the examination centre is November 16, 2018. GATE 2019 will conduct on 02, 03, 09, 10 February 2019 all over India and some International Centres.
