Only yesterday, May 27, 2022, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a public notice, announcing the re-opening of CUET 2022 registration portal. Notice was made public in the PDF format, on the official website samarth.ac.in. Accordingly, candidates can apply for the CUET UG 2022 exam till May 31, 2022, up to 9:00 pm. It is important to note that this deadline extension is the last opportunity to apply for the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022. NTA will not be accepting any further registration or correction requests, beyond the extended deadline.
As of now, the CUET 2022 exam is all set to be conducted in the first or second week of July 2022. However, the exact date and slot timings shall be notified in due course of time.
Reason for CUET 2022 Deadline Extension
Initially, NTA began the CUET 2022 registration on April 06, 2022, on the official website samarth.ac.in. The last date to fill and submit the form was specified as May 06, 2022. However, the deadline was extended to May 22, 2022, owing to numerous representations received by the agency.
A second extension has now been implemented in CUET 2022 registration, from May 27 to 31, 2022, for the same reason as mentioned above. Following is the statement that the notice specifies as the reason for extension –
In view of the representations received from the candidates regarding giving them an opportunity to submit their Online Application Form for CUET (UG)2022, National Testing Agency has decided to provide the opportunity to the candidates to fill up the Online Application Form of CUET (UG) – 2022.
Interested and eligible candidates have approximately 4 days’ time to apply for CUET 2022. However, on submitting the form, they will not be given a separate correction window for rectifying their credentials, post May 31, 2022.
Who can apply for CUET 2022 in extended deadline?
As reiterated in the public notice, two types of candidates can apply for CUET 2022 during the extended period –
#1 Fresh applicants who have not registered on the official website
#2 Already registered candidates who were unable to submit or complete their application
The latter can access their incomplete CUET 2022 application form by logging-in to the official portal using their application number and password.
CUET 2022 Correction Window
On May 25, 2022, NTA opened the correction window, allowing candidates to make changes in their already submitted CUET 2022 application form. This facility is scheduled to close on May 31, 2022, 9:00 pm, as well.
The CUET 2022 correction window is a one-time facility i.e., candidates can make changes in their form only ONCE. Furthermore, it is a paid-facility with charges based on rectifications made. Considering both aspects, aspirants are advised to use this facility wisely and only if required.
