The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment for Assistant Professors in Mathematics in the Science & Technology Department. This recruitment is done for engineering colleges affiliated with the Bihar Government. The recruitment advertisement is present on the official website of BPSC i.e bpsc.bih.nic.in with the advertisement number 66/2020. The registration process for the same shall commence from October 12, 2020. The last date to apply for the mentioned post through online mode is November 11, 2020. The recruitment contains a total of 126 vacancies out of which 42 vacancies are reserved for women. BPSC also specified the vacancy distribution on the basis of category- 48 OBC/Gen vacancies, 13 EWS, 21 SC, 1 ST, 24 EBC, 15 BC and 4 vacancies for women of backward class. Candidates are required to fulfil certain eligibility criteria to apply for this recruitment. Candidates must have qualification according to the UGC Notification no. F. 1-2/2017 (EC/PS) released on July 18, 2020. They must also fulfil certain guidelines frequently issued by UGC. Candidates must be at least 22 years old. However, there is no upper age limit specified in the official notification. BPSC advertisement also mentioned the pay package offered for this post i.e. pay scale of Rs.57,700 and pay level of 10.
BPSC has also specified certain selection criteria for recruitment of assistant professors in the concerned department. Selection shall be done on the basis of the extent of knowledge about the field as well as a teaching skill. The selection process involves three aspects – Academic record and Research Performance (weightage of 20 marks), the written examination (weightage of 40 marks) and interview (weightage of 15 marks). A weightage of 25 marks shall be given to assistant professors working on a contract basis.
Registration for the respective post shall begin from October 12, 2020. The link to register shall be uploaded by BPSC on their official website. Candidates are required to fill the online application form with their required particulars. Applicants are required to pay the application fee for the Assistant Professor post. OBC/Gen candidates have to pay Rs. 750 whereas SC/PwD/ST Bihar candidates have to pay Rs. 200.
BPSC has instructed the candidates to print a copy of the application form and mail it to the address ‘Bihar Public Service Commission, 15 Nehru Path, (Beli Road), Patna 800001. Candidates must also mail certain important documents such as Class 10 and 12 passing certificate, qualifying degree certificate, postgraduate or PhD certificate, caste certificate, etc. The last date to submit the hardcopy of the application form to the specified address is November 18, 2020.
