Board Exams 2019: Helplines Launched for Students to Deal with Stress and Anxiety

Various Boards Launched Helpline Numbers for Students

There are various boards such as CBSE, CISCE, NIOS, Gujarat Board, Punjab Board, Jammu and Kashmir Board which have issued the helpline numbers for the candidates. Now, the students who are going to appear for the exams or giving the exams can contact the board with the help of these helpline numbers. The boards have done so to reduce the stress and anxiety of the students. The boards have appointed teachers (subject specialist) and counsellors for this.

So, if the students feel pressure from parents, short concentration span, stress, anxiety, tension then they can immediately contact on these number. The numbers are specific for the specific region. The boards have also specified the timings to call on these numbers.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

To deal with the major issues, the CBSE board has issued toll-free helpline numbers across the country. The number is 1800118004. 87 counsellors have been appointed who are based in India and Abroad. Aspirants can call upon the number and can ask the queries such as how to deal with the stress during the exams, how to study, how to increase the concentration etc. Till now, the board had received 1,356 calls and out of these calls, 50% are for the board exams stress and anxiety. As of now, the IVR system calls are 7,000. Last year, the number of calls was 4,400.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)

NIOS class 10 and 12 exams will be conducted from Apri 03 and April 02, 2019 respectively. Students will be given 3 hours to complete the exams. The timing is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. So, before the examinations, the students can call the toll free number for any kind of query related to the board exams. The numbers are 18001809393, 01202403173, and 01202402889. Students are advised to feel free to call upon these numbers.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)

The CISCE board is conducting the exams of class 10 and 12 from February 22 and 04, 2019 respectively. The students can expect the results in the month of May 2019. So, the students can ask any of the issues related to the board exams. For this, the candidates can call on (011) 26413820, 26411706, 30820091/94.

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB)

For the students of Gujarat Board, GSEB as well as the Police Department, District Education Officer (DEO) and District Collector have released the students’ helpline numbers. The numbers launched by the District Collector are 63590, 64557 and 9824514033. 10 persons including the school principal, doctor, psychiatrist and policemen will always be available on these numbers. The board issued the number 18002335500. Students can call from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Punjab School Education Board (PSEB)

For the students of Punjab Board, the board has released the helpline number. the numbers are activated from March 01, 2019 and will be available till March 31, 2019. The students will be able to call between 11 am to 6:30 pm. The number released by the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is 18601801012.
