Xavier University has extended the last date to register for XGMT 2019 until December 14, 2018. Candidates who have missed the previous deadline can apply within the one week extended window. In order to take admission to the university, candidates can either apply via CAT/ XAT/ GMAT or appear for Xavier General Managment Aptitude Test (XGMT).
The application for XGMT 2019 is Rs 1000/- for all the candidates. Since the university offers multiple courses in its six Business schools, so candidates have to select and pay the fee for their preferred courses accordingly. Candidates who are applying via other national level exams have to pay Rs 500/- for one programme and Rs 700/- for every subsequent selection of the course. Similarly, candidates applying via XGMT have to pay Rs 1000/- for one programme and Rs 500/- each for the selection of more than 1 programme.
All India entrance level examination is scheduled to take place on January 27, 2019, in 6 test locations naming Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The admit card for the examination is expected to release in the third week of January 2019. Recently, XUB has also added two Executive programmes in the field of Agri-Business Management and Business Analytics in their curriculum.
For the preparation of the exam, candidates must be thorough with the exam pattern. This year students may or may not see a change in the exam pattern as it not mentioned officially on the website. Overall, the total number of the section will remain the same, the only change is expected in the number of questions in each section. The exam will have five sections naming quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning, emotional quotient, and general awareness. The test needs to be completed in 120 minutes having a sectional limit for each section.
The only peculiar section in the exam is the Emotional Quotient section. It is similar to the Decision-Making section in the XAT examination. Questions based on business-related problems appear in this section. In order to prepare for the exam, candidates can refer to the sample paper or mock test according to the exam pattern. More or less the preparation of the exam is similar to the CAT/ XAT entrance examinations.
The result of the examination is expected to announce in the first week of February 2019. The selection will include Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Written Ability Round. For the final admission, performance in previous rounds, work experience, and academic performance will also be taken into consideration.
