Last date to edit form is November 16, 2019.
In this window, changes can be made to a number of fields except the primary fields that are name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth. After making requisite corrections, final confirmation page can be generated. On the basis of final data so entered, the board will issue admit cards. WBJEE 2020 admit card will be available for download from January 27, 2020.
No requests for correction in data will be accepted beyond the correction window. And in any case, it will not be accepted in person or any mode except the online mode that has been provided.
Meanwhile, WBJEEB may also send SMS to candidates where incorrect images are seen in the WBJEE 2020 application form. If the photograph or signature are not as per requirement, then SMS is sent to such candidates, who then have to re-upload corrected image. The board will then take 3 days to verify it. During this time, if candidate logs in, then they will see a message that says “admin required approval”.
The board will conduct WBJEE on February 2, 2020. Paper I mathematics will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, and paper II physics and chemistry will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm. Post exam, the board shall provide official answer keys of mathematics as well as physics and chemistry papers. A certain window of time will be given to submit objections against the same. Thereafter, result will be announced.
WBJEEB had released the application form of WBJEE exam on October 18, 2019, and it was only yesterday that the registration process closed.
In a first, this year the entrance exam will be held before board exams. Initially the board had decided to conduct the exam on April 19. However it was ultimately shifted back by 10 weeks due to the requests received from state engineering colleges.
It was reported that 56% of the engineering seats this year remained empty, all across the state. While the reasons may be varied, the one reason that was pointed out by college authorities was that many students chose to go to other states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, where admissions closed sooner. In these states the entrance exams are held before WBJEE.
As a result the WBJEE exam will now be held in February, which is by all means now the first engineering entrance exam of the session, barring JEE Main, which will be held in January as well as April.
