Now that the MHRD has made sure that the common engineering entrance test will not be held, the aspirants are looking forward to appearing for JEE Main and State entrance examination. The state level entrance examinations are also conducted in the month of April and May. The admission is only granted in the colleges within the state through the examination. The details for the state level entrance examinations have started to be announced with the release of WBJEE 2018 exam date.

In the state of West Bengal, the engineering entrance exam will be held on April 22, 2018. The conducting body, WBJEEB, will release the details about it due course of time. The application form for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2018 will be released online, on wbjeeb.in. It will be available in the 1st week of January 2018. Students will be needed to provide their valid and active email address and phone number in the application form. The deadline to apply will fall in the 1st or 2nd week of February 2018.

Apart from the engineering aspirants, the candidates aiming to pursue B.Arch and B.Pharm course from the state will also be required to apply for WBJEE. Aspirant of all the fields will have to ensure the eligibility before apply. A candidate must have completed 17 years of age and should have passed 10+2 from a recognized institute. The candidates who will appear for the final exam in 2018 are also eligible to apply, provided their result is announced before the beginning of the academic session.

WBJEE 2018 will be a 200 marks questions paper. Candidates will have to attempt 155 questions on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. To solve the Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry section, the candidates will get 2 hours each. The section for each subject will be divided into three categories. Under category I and II, only one answer option will be correct. Whereas, under category III, there can be more than one correct answer option.

There is also a high possibility that negative marking will also be implemented in the exam. Last year, 1/4 marks were deducted under Category I and II for marking incorrect answer option. However, for marking the incorrect answer in category III no marks were deducted. It is expected that the marking scheme will remain the same this year. If any changes are done then it will be announced through the information brochure.

Most of the events of the examination will be carried out online. From the issuance of admit card to the release of the result. The candidates will able to check these from the WBJEE login, by submitting details like application number, password, date of birth, etc.

The result of WBJEE will be announced as a merit list. There will two separate merit list, GMR and PMR. The GMR will be used for granting admission in engineering, architecture and technology courses. On the other hand, PMR will be used to grant admission in pharmacy courses. Once, the merit will be released, the schedule of WBJEE counselling will be announced online.
