Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is conducting the engineering entrance exam VITEEE 2020. While the online application form for the exam has been available over vit.ac.in since September, the institute recently published a press release regarding sale of offline applications.
Now the VITEEE 2020 application form is also available offline at the VIT campuses as well as 22 select post offices all around the country. With this move, the institute aims at making application process easier for those who are either bereft of internet connection, or are more comfortable with offline forms.
To obtain the offline application form, prospective students can get it from the respective campuses of Vellore Institute of Technology by presenting a demand draft of Rs. 1250 in favour of Vellore Institute of Technology. Another option a candidate has is to deposit the cash payment at any one of the selected 22 pot offices across the country.
The offline form thus launched is for admission to VIT B.Tech programmes offered at VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT- AP and VIT-Bhopal. Applying for the exam is the first step towards appearing in the exam, getting a valid rank in which is mandatory for the purpose of admission.
Last date to apply and submit the form is February 29, 2020. Apart from the offline mode candidates also have the option to apply online. The last date for which is also same as that of the offline mode.
To apply online one has to visit the official website of the VIT which is vit.ac.in. Soon after visiting the main page, candidates will see on the right “VITEEE- apply by web/mobile app” in the red tab. Clicking on it one can find a direct link to registration saying “VITEEE 2020- apply online”. Access it and register for filing the application form.
In the online form candidates also have to upload the scanned photograph and signature in size between 10KB to 200KB. There is a difference in the fee online and offline. Filling online application cost Rs. 1,150, applying through app costs Rs 1,050 and offline demands Rs. 1,250.
VITEEE 2020 is scheduled to be held from April 13, 2020, to April 19, 2020 in a computer-based mode in 120 cities in India and as well as in Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qatar. The exam will be of 2.5 hours, and shall be held in three sessions on each day. The exam will have five sections I, II, III, IV, V. They will respectively be mathematics or biology, physics, chemistry, english, aptitude. There will not be any negative marking.
In recent times VIT has been recognized as an Institution of Eminence (IoE) by the Government of India. It offers 54 undergraduate, 32 postgraduate, 11 integrated programmes, 2 research programmes and 2 M.tech industrial programmes. For the academic session 2020-21, in B.Tech program, registrations are now open both in online and offline modes.
